Identity of Pedestrian Killed in Concord Motor Vehicle Crash Confirmed
CONCORD – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Concord Chief of Police Joseph O’Connor have confirmed that the pedestrian who died Monday after being struck by a commercial vehicle, a 2016 Ford Utility Pickup Truck, has been identified as Wayne Moody, 75, of Rutland.
At approximately 12:22 p.m. on Monday, November 26, Concord Police responded to a report of a pedestrian, an adult male, who had been hit by a utility pickup truck at the intersection of Independence Road and Alcott Road in Concord.
The preliminary investigation suggests that the decedent had been working on the side of the road when the utility pickup truck backed up, running him over. The male was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the commercial vehicle remained on scene.
This is an open and ongoing investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, the Concord Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the Massachusetts State Police Commercial Enforcement Team and no charges have been filed.
