Chief Joseph O’Connor announces that The Justice Training and Research Institute at Roger Williams University (Bristol, Rhode Island) in partnership with the New England Association of Chiefs of Police recognized Sergeant Jeffrey Shelley today for successfully completing their “Command Training Series: First Line Supervisor Course.”
The training consisted of two weeks of extensive training taught by experienced academic and police professionals. Topics included; operational leadership, management principles, problem-solving, organizational and interpersonal communications, labor relations, ethical decisions making as well as other contemporary policing issues.
Sergeant Shelley was selected by his classmates to address the class and their Chief’s of Police during a ceremony held today. Sergeant Shelley spoke about the value of the training and expressed his admiration for his classmates who he believes will make positive impacts in their communities. The class consisted of police supervisors from throughout New England.
Sergeant Shelley joined the Concord Police Department in 1994 and was promoted on May 13, 2019.
