Police Chief Joseph O’Connor and Fire Chief Thomas Judge would like to announce the added “text to enroll” feature on CodeRED, the town’s emergency alert system.
To enroll on a mobile device, text CONCORDALERTS to 99411 to receive a direct link to the enrollment form.
All residents and businesses are invited to register for the CodeRED notification system to receive alerts and updates during emergencies, including the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Sign up is available either online or on a mobile device, allowing users to receive notifications about missing children or persons, criminal activity, fires, drinking water advisories, utility outages, traffic conditions, various threats to people or the environment, and other incidents as deemed necessary by town public safety officials.
“This easy-to-use service allows residents to receive important alerts directly on their mobile devices and lets us reach a significant percentage of the community in an instant during an emergency,” said Chief O’Connor. “We strongly encourage residents to sign up in order to help them stay safe and informed.”
“This is a key resource to alert residents of any emergency in a timely fashion that might occur in town while first responders respond to the incident,” Chief Judge said. “A simple text message is all it takes to stay informed and keep everyone safe by alerting them through their preferred communication method, whether that be voice, email or text.”

To create an account, users will be asked to either log-in via Google, Facebook or Twitter, or create a separate account with a unique username and password. On the next page users will be asked to enter their name, address, phone number, mobile provider, email address and which types of alerts they would like to receive (emergency or emergency/general).
After agreeing to terms and conditions and verifying contact information, users will be successfully enrolled in the program.
