Sergeant Tia Manchuso
Chief of Police Joseph O’Connor is pleased to announce that this afternoon Town Clerk Kaari Mai Tari administered the Oath of Office for the rank of Sergeant to Tia Manchuso. Attending the swearing-in were her parents and other family members including her grandfather Joe Manchuso who retired from the Concord Police Department.
Sergeant Manchuso was born and raised in Concord. She joined the Concord Police Department as a Public Safety Dispatcher. After seven years of service she was hired to become a Police Officer. She attended the Massachusetts Police Officer Class at the Reading Police Academy and graduated in 2014. She served as a Police Officer and was assigned the additional duties of School Resource Officer and Elder Affairs Officer. Her most recent assignment was as Detective in the Criminal Investigations Unit.
Sergeant Manchuso holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Framingham State College and a certificate in Criminal Justice from the University of Massachusetts Lowell (UML). She is currently pursuing a Master Degree at UML.
Sergeant Manchuso is the first female to hold the rank of Sergeant in Department’s history which dates back to 1872.
